Zermatt

This unique yet typical Swiss mountain resort is gorgeously decorated with old-fashion brown chalets, rising Alpine peaks, and crystal-clear blue skies.

Bordering Switzerland and Italy, charming Zermatt, situated at the foot of the majestic Mt Matterhorn, has the purest quality of air in Switzerland – and certainly in the world – as from 1947, only electric cars have been allowed in the village.

Pyramid-like Mt Matterhorn at 4,480 meters ( 14,700 ft) high is the most photographed mountain in the world.

Here, you will not only find the highest ski area in the Alps, but also one of the best developed in the world. Outstanding sporting experiences on the steepest slopes in the world are guaranteed 365 days a year.

From winter to summer, there is so much to do in Zermatt.

The most spectacular way to view Mt Matterhorn is definitely a helicopter ride on a sunny day. You will be flown so close to the mountain that you’ll feel like you could reach out and touch the snow! Seize the opportunity to take some breathtaking photos. The scenic Gornergrat Train ride is an alternative – it takes you up to 3000 meters where you literally can touch the snow and appreciate a hot drink while admiring the panoramic view on Mt Matterhorn and 29 other Alpine peaks.

In the summer, Zermatt and its surroundings offer 400 km of beautiful hiking and walking trails. More adventurous activities include mountain biking and paragliding, which will leave you with unforgettable memories of Switzerland.
